Naked.

I stumbled upon a cute little blog today that runs a creativity project on a weekly basis called The Sunday Creative.  This week's prompt is "Naked".  I think this is a really cool idea, and I not only love taking pictures, but sharing them with others, so I thought I'd join in this week.  When I first read the prompt, this photo came to mind:
Besides being one of my favorite still life photos from Africa, it is also makes me think.  I find a lot of beauty in it, but at the same time, it is a portrait of something that is dying and naked as winter approaches.  I like to imagine the petals and leaves that were once attached to this spindly skeleton that made it a gorgeous flower.

So, if you're reading this, check out The Sunday Creative and get your creative juices flowing!

Bangs.

I've been a bit envious of Naomi (over at The Rockstar Diaries) for her bangs for a while now.  So, after debating and debating, I finally went out and took the leap.  I'm still getting used to them, but I think I like them so far!
What do you think?

Recovering

I got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday, which means I've been camped out on my couch for the past 24 hours.  It also means I look something like this:
Just kidding.  It really looks more like this:
Gotcha again!  Now for real, I actually look something like this:
So, as you can see, my left side looks something like I have a grapefruit in my cheek (they had to drill that side), while my right looks pretty normal.  All I really want right now is a burger.  Or maybe some fries from Chic-fil-A.  However, my dear friend Jen was kind enough to bring me some Rita's, which is really the only thing I've kept down today.  Overall, though, I guess I'm recovering pretty well!  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

And apparently, Vicodin is good for making people make fools out of themselves by posting embarrassing pictures of themselves on their blogs.  Hmm.

Mark

Today I took my little bro, Mark, and our cousin, Zac, on a photo shoot.  Mark's a rising senior (gasp!...how is that possible?!?!) and so I was super excited to take some pics of him to document this exciting little milestone.
He and Zac are also musicians (if you couldn't tell).  So we decided to shoot some pictures for them to use as promos and on Myspace/Facebook/demos.
And since I did it with Catherine,
here's 10 things I LOVE about Mark:
1.  He's my brother.  I sort of have to love him.  :)
2.  He makes me laugh.
3.  He's a great role model.
4.  He loves Jesus more than his luggage.
5.  He is incredibly talented.
6.  He is compassionate.
7.  Even at 17 and 20, he was game for having a sleepover the night before I went to Zim.
8.  He's a great friend.
9.  We used to watch cartoons at like, 2 am, when we stayed at our grandparents during the summers.  Those were some good bonding times.
10.  He makes me so proud to be his big sis.

Camera life

Here's the thing about life lately, for one, its incredibly busy.  For another thing, most of the pictures taken of me recently feature me holding a camera.  For example:

And can I be quite honest?
I like it.

Today I am...

...feeling a lot like Hilary Swank in P.S. I Love You (pre-death of her husband).  You know that line where she says, "Why do I have to be the responsible grown up who worries? Why can't I be the cute, carefree Irish guy who sings all the time?"  Today, that's exactly how I feel.  Minus wanting to be a cute Irish guy.

Today, I'm just a little tired of always being the practical one.
