Summer Goals

it's been an insanely rainy and blah kind of week here in pa, but the sun is finally peeking out and summer is just around the corner and i'm very happy about that!  i know that summer will just fly by, as it always does, so in order to get the most out of it, i've made a list of my summer goals, or things i'd like to see happen this summer.

by "community", i mean goals that i have for spending time with or doing things with or for other people…
travel!  day trips or long weekends…i want to get out of town this summer!
have good conversations…dig deep
go to a concert or two (starting with onerepublic at the end of this month!)
be an encourager
go on a few fun dates with aj
spend a lot of time with family

my personal goals revolve around things i need to do for me
read…work my way through my stack of unread books
take time each week to sit at a coffee shop and write/blog
get into a better devotional routine
knock a few diy projects off of my list
clean out and thin out my closet and room
save money like crazy
circle some big goals/dreams in prayer and see where God takes them!
learn to rest and abide
have tech-free days

i started setting some serious wellness goals for myself this spring, and i want to see those continue!
train for a half marathon (and run 13.1 by summer's end!)
eat better
adjust my mindset to stay inspired and motivated
workout at least 3x per week
go on lots of walks with aj
bike with my dad as he trains for his 150 mile ride this fall
juice a lot
wear sunscreen regularly

what are your goals for this summer?

I love your summer goals, too - by the way. The community goal in particular resonates with me. I really want to make that a priority this summer too. <3

  6. I need to add the 3 times a week to my list, I was hoping for 4 on the week we went on vacation and I just spent that time sleeping in with J, so no exercise accomplished. I need to make more time for myself and my family as well.

  40. How is your devotional routine going? That's always the hardest for me!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Are you reading the Circle Maker? For circling those dreams in prayer!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I read it about a year/year and a half ago...our church did it as a sermon series, and I was actually able to go to National Community Church for an Orange Tour One-Day conference with our children's & youth min teams from church and we heard Mark Batterson speak! It was so cool then to read the book and be able to visualize the building and block in DC that he literally walked a prayer circle around!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ugh...so not great. I'm really really terrible at being consistent...always have been. I need some legit, tough-love accountability for it! Here's to getting better! :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. thanks! also, speaking of mark batterson...today i was in a meeting with our lead pastor and we were talking about needing footage of the jefferson memorial for an upcoming sermon series and he goes "well we could just call mark and ask him to send one of his media guys out to grab some footage for us so we don't have to go to dc"....and i just sat there thinking "this is my life....i work for a church were we casually talk about calling up Mark Batterson and asking for favors....what on earth." hahaha
