Beauty // Clarisonic Mia Review

as with my nike+ fuelband review, clarisonic has not asked me to review their product.  it's just a product that i love and i want to share why i love it with all of you!

my skin has always been acne-prone.  less so now that i'm in my twenties, but it's still pretty oily and it still likes to surprise me from time to time with a lovely blemish here and there.  i'm the kind of girl who loves the feeling of tingly, clean skin...you know, the kind that makes you go "ahhhh" because your skin can actually breathe?  yeah, there's nothing like it.

i'm also the kind of girl who is always down for trying new products, and was really intrigued by the clarisonic cleansing brush system for a while.  i did my research (and talked to a friend who owned a clarisonic), and finally decided to go with the clarisonic mia 1.  the mia 1 prices around $100-$120, which is a bit of an investment, but in my opinion, it was totally worth it.

the mia 1 has only one timed setting, which gives you a minute-long cleansing cycle for your face.  other models have two different speeds and settings, but honestly, only having one has never bothered me in the nearly two years that i've been using my mia.

the mia is made up of a handle and a removable brush head, and the brush head oscillates at a speed of 300 movements per second, which helps to open up your pores and cleanse deep-down.  according to clarisonic, using a mia will cleanse your skin 6x better than just using your hands.

i've been using my clarisonic for nearly two years now and i have definitely seen improvement in my skin.  my skin is softer, feels cleaner after washing, and while i do still have blemishes from time to time, they clear up so much faster.

here's a run down of what i love about the mia:
- you can use it daily
- you can use any cleanser you want with it
- safe to keep in the shower all the time
- a charge lasts upwards of 2 weeks
- the brush head pops off easily for cleaning and changing
- gives you a deeper clean than just using your hands

do you have a clarisonic?  love it?  hate it?  do you have something comparable that you love?

I have a regular Clarisonic that I've mostly stopped using but that's only because I am SO LAZY about ordering replacement heads. I quite liked it when I was using it regularly! So clean.

  23. I own the Clarisonic Mia 2, and I freakin' love it. I haven't used it in a few weeks, but I like to take a break from it once in a while since I like to wear self-tanner on my face/body, and the CM2 scrubs it right away haha.

  27. My skin is in the midst of a breakout at the moment. I've heard about this so many times, but don't see massively how it differs much from exfoliating?

  28. It definitely exfoliates, but it's gentle enough for everyday use. If you're wondering about how it differs from using an exfoliating scrub, it's definitely better. I used to use scrubs daily on my skin, and my skin would be dry in some spots and then oily in others and it was just a mess. With the clarisonic, I've been able to use moisturizing cream cleansers that are gentler on my skin and still get a great deep clean. hope that helps!

  29. i'd definitely say it's worth the investment! it's really a well-made product!

  30. ahhh...that totally makes sense! haha...i love mine so much, i use it daily! but i also don't use self-tanners on my face (just arms/legs), so i haven't had that problem, but could definitely see how you wouldn't be able to use it then! i guess it just shows how well it works! :)

  31. Thankfully I haven't had any major skin issues, but now that I'm getting older I'm realizing water and washing my face here and there isn't cutting it. I've heard great reviews from a few friend's that use this, will def have to give one a try.

  32. This Clarisonic brush looks awesome! I can't wait to try this one out!

  33. I feel like my skin would be really angry at me if I used this.

  35. I think this would be a great investment for me. Right now I haven't been spending much time on my skin because I am always busy or tired.

  37. Sounds like an excellent apliance. I am lucky and have never suffered from acne and I have a quite dry skin on my face. So this might not be my thing.
