6 Spring Date Ideas
I'm so excited to be joining forces with Faith at Life with Mrs. G & the Artist today to bring you six date ideas that you can do this spring! Faith is such an inspiring blogger and I love how she really embraces community with her blog (I also participate in her Golden Vlog link-up each month!). So when she asked if I would be interested in collaborating with her, it was a no-brainer!
With spring weather arriving, it's the perfect time to get outside and plan some dates! AJ and I love having little impromptu dates, and spring always brings great opportunities to have those little spur-of-the-moment times together. So check out these three easy (and cheap!) date ideas and then head over to Faith's blog to see the rest of the list!
1 // Gaze at the Stars
I think it's safe to say that AJ and I fell in love stargazing! We weren't even dating a month when I called him at 10pm one night while driving home from grad school and asked him if he wanted to go to the park near his house to look at the stars. This might seem like an obvious date idea, but here's why spring is the best time to stargaze: it still gets chilly at night, so that means extra reason to snuggle! Pack up a thermos of hot cocoa and a warm blanket or two, and head to a park near you to gaze up at the sky with your guy! We love breaking out the Sky Guide app and actually learning about what we're looking at (plus, it plays really tranquil music that's perfect for stargazing!)
2 // Grab a Bike and a Basket
Another thing I love doing in the spring months is going for bike rides and picnics! We have a great park & recreation area near us that is perfect for a bike ride and also great for picnicking, so combining the two is a great idea. Plus, if you've been stuck inside all winter, it's a great opportunity to get out and burn some calories outdoors while you enjoy the sunshine. If you have a bike with a basket, why not pack your picnic on your bike and ride to your destination? If you're in a city (or near one) and don't have a bike, many major cities have Bike Share programs that will allow you to rent a bike for just a few bucks a day! (We used DC's Bike Share two summers ago and it was a blast!)
3 // Root, Root, Root for the Home Team
One of my all-time favorite spring and summer date ideas is to catch a professional baseball game! With major league season openers starting next week, chances are you have a team in your general area, but if you don't live close to a big city, then look around for a minor league team! We're about an hour from a Philadelphia Phillies game, but we also have our local minor league team, the Fightin' Phils, right here in Reading, and tickets are less than $10 to see them play. When you add in the cost of a hot dog and some french fries, you can do the whole date for less than $30! While nothing beats seeing a major league team play (and by the way friends, if you ever have the opportunity to see a game at Fenway, don't even bat an eyelash and do it...it's the best!), the community and fun of rooting on your local minor league team is a ton of fun too!
So there you have it, a few suggestions for spring dates! Now head on over to Life with Mrs. G and the Artist to read more!
